MLM (multi-level marketing) looks easy. You join a business, maybe sell a few items, get people to try it out, then you earn nice commissions from everyone’s sales. There’s no such beast as an easy business that does not require work. Just realize this, there really is a lot more involved with multi-level marketing than previously stated. There’s no reason why you cannot achieve in MLM, if you have the willingness to work. MLM is one of the more popular business models for internet marketers to follow.

First thing to always do: With every lead you get always follow-up after first contact. Always honor requests for time to consider the proposal when a lead mentions they need time to think. It’s fine to give them two days, roughly, to let them think before you talk to them again. It’s not uncommon to actually complete a sale after you’ve taken the time to follow-up and ask if there are any questions.
Do not assume the prospect will contact you because that doesn’t happen. But remember, with multi-level marketing you always have to assume control. If you follow-up, you could make a sale. People usually do not respond to free offers of products by ordering from you, at least not in mass amounts. You can spread some good will with free samples, but they won’t guarantee any sale. Think about the person before you offer those freebies. Choose the people you think are really pondering your products. Never offer any free samples immediately after meeting them and it’s too soon. If you offer it to someone who is hovering over a “yes” but afraid to commit to that “yes” the freebie could help you land the sale. You can manage your money and avoid handing them all out too fast.
You probably know this, but rejection by possible recruits or potential product buyers is just a fact of MLM business. Some people have difficulty with rejection, and that’s normal, so maybe this business is not your best choice.
The fact is that there are just some people out there who are going to say “no” without caring what it is that you are offering them. So make every effort to avoid taking it as a personal judgment against you. It’s not about you. It is the product or the idea of being part of a multi level marketing team. So just take it as it comes, and then move on. You can make serious money with MLM if your approach and attitudes are correct. There’s a terrible perception that it’s a just a get-rich-quick scheme, or scam. In some ways it can be. For the most part, though, MLM is a legitimate business opportunity.
